The best way to learn to skate is generally to join one of our development clubs that operate from The Ice Station. And of course, to skate as often as possible – practice makes perfect. Once you've mastered the basics of skating it is an easy transition to a future of ice hockey or figure skating with our resident Professional Coaches.

Black Panthers Club
Our ice skating club offers group ice skating lessons at The Ice Station, in Cape Town. Our ice skating lessons take place on a Saturday morning from 8am to 10am and are for skaters of all ages and skill levels. The club offers ice skating classes to skaters from as young as 4 years old. Skaters of all skill levels are welcome to join our club, even if it is your first time on the ice. Our skilled and qualified ice skating coaches are trained to help even the most anxious beginner.

Junior Blades Club
Junior Blades Ice Skating Club teaches skaters of all ages the basics of learning to skate the correct way by our professional coaches with assistance from Western Province senior skaters. Through our structured group classes, our skaters are taught the fundamentals to assist them on their journey to realise their dreams of becoming a champion ice skater, to represent their country and with the ultimate goals to compete at the Olympic games with the best in the world.

Ice Hockey
The Ice Station is host to the Western Province Ice Hockey Association. The WPIHA has five member clubs and always welcome new beginners.
Ice hockey is a fast-paced, exciting sport that builds teamwork, fitness, and skating skills. Our clubs cater to all ages and skill levels.
