The past President, Fatima Khan, started the club in 1975 to further the interests of figure skating in the Western Cape and to provide the community, especially the youth with a creative outlet and interest. The BPFSC has 10 committee members and an army of enthusiastic parents.

The club has competed with success nationally and internationally. A number of solo and synchronized skaters who began their skating careers with our club have won many solo, dance and synchronized national titles, and have also competed in international competitions in many countries including Belgium, Croatia, Italy, America, Britain and France.
